Riding, Lessons and Services

Birchmere offers two levels of riding lessons:

1. A working student program is available for the student who prefers total immersion in the world of eventing and horse management. In exchange for barn work, the working student receives intensive one-on-one riding sessions at a discount, as well as regular riding outside of lessons.

"Barn" work includes everything from mucking stalls to schooling young horses, depending on the student's experience. Even beginners will quickly learn various aspects of event horse management through the working student program.

Birchmere's working student roster currently includes elementary school through college age students and adults. Birchmere has full and part time working student programs.

2. Private, semi-private or group lessons are available for the rider with less time, including the chance to ride outside of lessons are offered at regular cost.

We are happy to provide you with the lesson format that best meets your needs.

Ride your own horse or pony or one of ours. We are confident our well-trained horses and ponies will offer a positive learning experience from beginners to advanced.

Birchmere Farm holds lessons on-site at our facility or we can travel to your own barn or home. We also have winter accommodations at Hillside Farm in Auburn, NH. Hillside Farm has an indoor arena that became available for use in December 2000!

Other services include coaching at events, tack fitting, conformation and suitability evaluation, clinics and much more! We are very flexible and can accommodate most reasonable requests.
